Valley Angels For
Families

Our story

It started with a rainout.

Eighteen teams, one golf course, and a sky that opened up. Fifteen years later the same group of neighbors is still at it, and a family in the Valley is better off for it every single year.

Fifteen years of Septembers and Decembers

A local charity, built by families, for families.

Valley Angels for Families is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 and based in Ansonia, Connecticut. We are committed to providing essential support and assistance to families in our community who are facing difficult times.

The way it works has not changed since 2014. We choose a family. We raise everything we can. We hand it over. We try to leave a footprint in someone's life, and we have never taken a dollar out for ourselves.

The year the mission found itself

In 2013 the founder lost his father. The members decided that year's proceeds should go to a church overseas that had meant a great deal to him. It was their strongest year yet, and somewhere in doing it they realized what this could be. They formed a committee with a mission to help people and have some fun doing it.

The next year they chose a local family going through the worst of it, gave them everything the day brought in, and never looked back. That is the model we have run ever since.

This is why

A reward for life

We do not print their names here, but we know every one of them. Every family we have chosen has reminded us why Valley Angels exists. It was never about the tournament, the raffle, or the size of the check.

It is about showing a family living through the hardest days of their lives that their community is standing right behind them, and that they were never as alone as it felt.
